Graduation of Students – “On the Road to Freedom” Program

January 28, 2025

The contributions of Biblical Theology, Psychology, and Art at the DIDAJÉ Research and Teaching Center have played a key role this year in helping 105 individuals incarcerated in three correctional facilities gain knowledge that liberates, dignifies, and restores their lives. Today, we have men and women in prison who have made important decisions to build a new life project.

Over the course of a year, participants in the program have been able to theologically and biblically strengthen their faith while also recognizing the emotions and feelings generated in the prison environment to improve their mental health. This has been made possible through courses and seminars such as On the Way Home – Theological and Biblical Keys to Understanding the Parable of the Lost Son, Foundations for a Life of Faith, Prison as a Place of Exile and Salvation, Emotional Psychoeducation I (Recognizing Emotions and Feelings), and Emotional Psychoeducation II (Emotional Validation Through Art).

We extend our gratitude to biblical theologians, psychologists, social workers, and pastoral caregivers who have joined this great educational effort that liberates and dignifies the incarcerated population. We also appreciate our partners, including the UNIMINUTO University Corporation, which supports Didajé through the internships of students from various professions, and the Catholic Prison Ministry of Panama, which has embraced our program for the social reintegration of its prison population. Additionally, we thank our entire support network for their financial and in-kind donations. Together, we have formed a team guided by God to help rewrite a new life story for them. We have opened a path of dignity, teaching them to live in freedom.

If you would like to support the education of our students, you can do so by donating 30,000 pesos or more per month for one year. Supporting the social work of Foundations also grants you tax benefits.
