The book of Revelation in the New Testament, as its Greek name indicates, is a revelation written by Christian communities of the first century, who experienced great persecution because of their following of Jesus, hence its language expressed in images and symbols (Jesus as a slain Lamb but standing, the dragon, 7 seals among others). These literary forms have made Revelation a book that presents difficulties for its interpretation.
